Permanent Disability and The AMA Guides - (Basic)
Course Code CA16A

This course is designed to cover permanent disability rating of scheduled disabilities. Beginning with the rating process, and contents and use of the schedule, the course includes relevant terminology, anatomical terms, and medical descriptions and measurements in conjunction with the mechanics of rating disabilities per the AMA Guides. Permanent Disability and The AMA Guides - (Advanced)
Course Code CA16B
This advanced course covers permanent disability rating of complex and non-scheduled disabilities. The methodology of rating permanent disabilities from impairments is taken from the AMA Guide. This course provides an overview of the fine points of rating including concepts, terms, and procedures. This couse is designed for experienced claims and legal personnel. Special emphasis is focused on use of actual medical reports. CA 16A must be taken prior to taking CA 16B. Topics Covered include:

Pain rating add-ons and Almaraz/Guzman cases
Bilateral, ambidextrous, MDT, overlapping and other multiple disabilities
Review work on the utilization of information outside of the schedule
Administrative protocols for physicians, lawyers and other resources.
