Developed by the Institutes, the goal of this program is to help professionals improve their competence level by applying underwriting principles, including exposure identification, coverage knowledge, key underwriting considerations, and loss control techniques.

Earning the AU Designation
The AU designation can be earned by passing the following course combinations

AINS 23 - Commercial Insurance
AU 65 - Commercial Underwriting: Principles and Property

AU 66 - Commercial Underwriting: Liability and Advanced Techniques

OR

AU 65 - Commercial Underwriting: Principles and Property
AU 66 - Commercial Underwriting: Liability and Advanced Techniques
CPCU 551 - Commercial Property, Risk Management and Insurance
CPCU 552 - Commercial Liability, Risk Management and Insurance
