CCMP 1: Medical-Legal Case File Management



Description: This course provides insight into identification and planning for resolution of medical-legal issues in workers' compensation claims. Topics include analyzing the non-litigated claim file and the litigated claim file, treatment administration, disability status, return-to-work, vocational rehabilitation status, advanced medical-legal issues and claim resolution, permanent disability, admissibility, and agreed medical evaluation. This course will benefit claims administrators, rehabilitation specialists, attorneys, medical professional, physicians and nurses, and others seeking general knowledge of the medical-legal system to reach claims administration objectives. This course is taught on a tutorial basis in what is known as the "claim desk approach". Hands-on work with problems will enhance direct course instruction. Participants will be encouraged to discuss medical file issues and claim resolution obstacles they experience as part of their workers' compensation claim management responsibilities. Participants' evaluation will be based on their completion of course assignments and examinations. Other CE Credit: 12 CE hours for WCCP and CPDM, 30 CE hours for BRN. DOI CE: None.
