CA 8: Introduction to Workers' Compensation Claims
Description:
This program provides a comprehensive overview of the basic principles of workers' compensation claims. This course benefits insurance company and producer support staff, self-insured claims personnel, health providers, and others needing a general knowledge of the current California workers' compensation claims system. The Course covers history and benefits, AOE/COE, medical treatment, temporary and permanent disability, vocational rehabilitation, and the litigation process. CA 8 is not part of and does not apply credit toward IEA's Workers' Compensation Claims Administration Certificate Program. CA 8 or WC 006 - Introduction to Workers' Compensation Claims is a required prerequisite of CA 10 for persons with less than six months' claims handling experience. CA 8 and CA 10 should not be taken simultaneously. DOI credit: 15 CE hours for fire/casualty broker-agents and life agents for classroom session only. ONLINE classes are not approved for DOI CE.
